Comedy Classics

For and by fans of classic comedy

Since this also has a Groucho imersonation as well, I'll crosspost over at the Marx Brothers group.

So, I was doing some searching on a new site called Backtype and found this blog post with a great Chaplin costume and, imho, better Groucho. Nice graphic header too ;)

The Chaplin is really cute, but the Groucho is fantastic! I love it!

Thanks for sharing it!

I'm sure you all know who this is impersonating Charlie, but I really liked the pic and thought I would post it here. If anyone hasn't seen the pic before, any guesses as to who it is? It's pretty obvious, I think.

PS Somehow the enlargement of the scan looks good, but on my computer, the small picture looks like a checkerboard...sorry.

Aww, Stanley. I had never seen that particular one before, certainly nice!

While regarding the Stan impersonating Charlie photo, here's another

Found several other CC impersonations by famous people. I'm sure most of you have seen them, but they are fun anyway. Sorry the 2nd one is such bad quality. The video it came from is very bad quality too.

the first one is lucille ball on the i love lucy show. the second one i can't recognize. the third is michael jackson.

The first one is indeed Lucille Ball. But it was on her 2nd iteration of her show..."The Lucy Show" -- you can find the video on You Tube. Dick Martin from Laugh-In played the waiter and Vivian Vance played a flapper that the tramp flirts with.

The second one is Gloria Swanson on "The Carol Burnett Show". Gloria was in her 70's when she did it and I thought she was very good. This video is also on You Tube, in two parts. Gloria was very tiny, about 5 foot one.

Michael Jackson, a big CC fan, had this picture taken I believe when he was in London and he suddenly said he wanted to dress up like the tramp and have pics taken. Don't know the date, but he looks rather young.
